home sweet (temporary) home.

DC: my home for the next two months.

i've only been here for about three hours, but i've already realized two things- one: when on an escalator, stay on the right side. and two: pretend like you know where you're going, even if you really don't. you'll just look like a tourist.

i'm so excited to begin working tomorrow! we're working with the church's food bank, and then i'm going to pick up the kids from school. super excited!

pastor jones calls me "sister laura". it makes me feel important. she's such a sweet. caring lady. always making sure we have exactly what we need. no matter what it is.

it's so nice to live in downtown. middle of dc. we have the windows open to let in fresh air. cars are crazily driving right outside. and fire trucks race by every two seconds. it's such a busy. fast paced world. right outside my doorstep.

another thing i've learned: don't ever take for granted air conditioning.
